This page explains exactly what's included in our complete new bathroom renovation package and what makes a Gary James bathroom different from the rest. As an expert bathroom planner and installer, we know it's not just about what we install, it's how we build it. Every part of the room is thought through: the layout, the preparation, the products, the fittings, and the long-term reliability. We've done the hard work upfront so you don't have to.
This isn't a quick makeover. This is a full renovation, properly stripped, properly prepped, and built to last.
The first steps are crucial in our renovation projects. We safely remove all existing fixtures, fittings, tiles, and flooring, ensuring pipes are capped off and made safe. Unlike many a standard bathroom fitter, we carry out a full removal of existing floorboards to allow complete access to all plumbing, waste pipes, and electrics beneath. Removing the floor gives us the full picture and means we can rework the space properly. We then install brand new tongue-and-groove pine floorboards, topped with a full layer of tile backer board to provide a stable, waterproof surface.
We don't just "make the pipework work" we plan and install it to suit your bathroom design and long-term performance. All pipe runs are concealed in walls, floors, or neatly boxed, with no visible pipework unless specifically requested. We use industry-standard WRAS-approved plastic plumbing fittings and premium McAlpine waste fittings, the UK's market-leading manufacturer. Plumbing is invisible when it's perfect, and unmissable when it's not.
We plan and install your bathroom electrics with performance, compliance, and long-term reliability in mind. Our electrical work is carried out by qualified, insured subcontractors. Standard inclusions feature new LED down-lights, an inline extractor fan ducted safely through the loft and vented externally, modern wall switches, and a premium LED bathroom mirror with a built-in shaver socket and anti-steam heat pad.
Whether it is a family bathroom or an ensuite bathroom installation, we build walls properly from the start. We use modern, 100% waterproof tile backer boards on both the floor and walls rather than plasterboard or skimming methods. The shower tray or bath is installed to form a permanent part of the enclosure, and all wet zones are tanked, meaning they are completely waterproof before tiling even begins.
Tiling isn't just about coverage, it's about alignment, durability, and delivering a finish that elevates the entire room. We import our own tiles directly from trusted manufacturers in Spain, giving us full control over batch consistency and quality. Our packages include a curated selection of 600x600mm rectified porcelain tiles, allowing us to achieve narrow, sharp grout lines. We use an S1 flexible adhesive to absorb movement and a hybrid resin/cement grout that resists cracking and discolouration.
As your trusted bathroom company, we include carefully selected items chosen for function, compatibility, and long-term performance. Standard inclusions feature a sleek Grohe close-coupled toilet, Grohe bar mixers for showers, and wall-mounted bath shower mixers to avoid drilling the bath. Each bathroom also includes a tailored vanity basin unit with a matching Grohe basin mixer tap, alongside a modern chrome electric towel rail that features an integrated electric heating element to warm both your towels and the room.
We don't leave things "good enough" we leave them ready for you to step into. The ceiling is fully finished with a specialist moisture-resistant paint. All final decorative silicone is applied to internal corners and around all sanitaryware. We carry out a thorough wipe-down and clean-up process to remove dust and residue, test all fittings, and clear all rubbish via skip hire or professional collection.
Our complete bathroom renovation package is available for a fixed price of £14,999 (Fully inclusive - including VAT). This is confirmed following a detailed site survey, meaning no hidden extras and no creeping costs.
